Who are you now?
So much of what calls someone to do a piece of work is relationship. Not only with another person, though that is often the visible thread − a marriage dissolving or one just beginning, a belief system outgrown, a friendship or community that no longer resonates, or one newly found. Underneath that is always another relationship: the one with yourself. And underneath that, the relationship with the intelligence that moves through all of it.
When a person comes to me at the end of a relationship, what they're really asking is: Who am I now?
It's a desire to know yourself more truly. Inside a relationship, roles can be performed in service to a specific way of being together, however beautiful or awful that was. Once an ending is in motion, it becomes an alchemical fire where transformation takes place. The longing is for the one inside, the you that's becoming something more true than what has been. Meeting this still-forming self can be tender work. It requires patience and gentleness in the not-knowing. It invites clear vision, and allowance of what is coming through. It asks for your courage to see what's real, and to acknowledge and embrace it. This process wants space around it, while the new you takes shape − rather than rushing into becoming, and losing threads of light that are ready to shine through.
Gratefully, I am currently in this kind of experience: my body is changing in ways that are asking me to change with it. I'm noticing I want more space. Less clutter, inside and out. I'm reaching out to people to clear up any lingering noise between us, and standing more gracefully in relationships where the resonance has shifted. I'm welcoming more of who I am, by going toward what really calls me − and diving into parts of myself that haven't been dire, but that are now clearly asking for my attention, to help me become a fuller version of myself.
This is relationship too − the relationship with what is essential in us. It is the relationship we're really working on, whether it shows up as a marriage, a rebirth, a rite of passage, or a body that's being reorganized. The Earth School continually invites us to come closer to what is true. Let go of what is not. And know that once the refinement has happened, you will look in the mirror and recognize yourself, still and always whole.
None of this is a problem to solve. It is a relationship to be in − with yourself, with the people you love, with Spirit or whatever you choose to call the intelligence that holds all of it. This is the practice, the gift of being here on Earth, the art of living as the unique expression of divine intelligence that you are.
Wherever you might be on your journey, I send you blessings.
I am shining infinite light for you.
Love,
Aowyn
